The Learning Center is a resource students use throughout the academic year to assist them with their courses and assignments, but how can TLC help you in the first week of the quarter, when your classes are just beginning?
First, our knowledgeable staff can assist you with many of the logistical elements of the course such as helping you find the correct room or navigate your blackboard site. Blackboard, specifically, can be a challenge for many new students, and we are happy to walk you through the basics of the site as well as other introductory computer questions.
Secondly, it is a good idea to meet with us early to help work out a plan of action for the quarter. For instance, if you know that a particular course or courses will be especially challenging to you this quarter, meeting with a tutor early and discussing the best ways to help you with that material will pay dividends in the long run. Moreover, we have so many resources available to students that it would be good just to stop in and discover our programs that you may have not be familiar with, like SI. Again, knowing what assistance you can receive early on will only benefit you as the quarter progresses.
With this in mind, stop into TLC at McDonough 100 the first week of the quarter with initial questions and learn about the many ways we can assist you all quarter long.
